CROQUET BUST-UP

A MAN was fighting for his life last night and three others were in hospital after a game of croquet erupted into a mass brawl. Police said the trouble started after an argument with a woman player about the rules.
A group playing baseball in the same park in Calgary, Canada, became involved, and armed with croquet mallets the teams started attacking each other.
"Both the croquet side and the baseball players had been drinking and things just seem to have got out of hand," said a police spokesman. Nine people were later arrested.
